Autism Society of the Paris Presents the Kick Off - September Parent-Educator Workshop
The Power of Peer Supports in the Classroom
Presenter: Patti Davis, MS CCC-SLP, Neenah Joint School District

Speaker, Patti Davis is a speech and language pathologist with the Neenah Joint School District.  She has instituted a peer supports program for students on the autism spectrum.  Patti’s program was featured in the Post Crescent.  You can access the article at www.postcrescent.com/story/news/education/2015/05/29/peer-support-benefits-autistic-neenah-student/28188281. 
During this presentation Patti will discuss all of the component parts of the POPS program:

  1. staff education
  2. parent education
  3. nomination of mentors
  4. lunch training
  5. scheduling of groups
  6. choosing goals
  7.  intervention lessons
  8. mentor follow-up
  9. classroom carry-over
